The Aquzar by Avanza:

Aquzar is a ‘Plug & Play’ modular residential wastewater / sewage treatment unit. The high quality, compact, 8 model range can service from 30 to 500 persons each . A series of units can service 6000+ persons. Aquzar is not a filter, septic tank, MBR Mebrane or a Rotating Biological Disc system. It is a unique compact 3 stage intense aerobic treatment unit wilth the capacity to service a group of homes, a school or a complete town or resort :

The Opportunity:

Throughout North America there are millions of acres of buildable land with water and electricity available but sewer mains is unavailable; so the land lies idle!?

Until now that is. Aquzar solves this issue facilitating development of sites not previously considered possible opening up huge extra land use possibilities.

For example a rapid development of ski lodge and multifamily in mountain resort areas, patio homes in semi rural locations, affordable housing on edge of town sites, hotels directly in oil boom territory, workforce housing in new manufacturing centers!

Also oil & gas and mining workcamps are often located in environmentally sensitive regions. These can be remote desert or mountain areas where potable water is costly and waste water cumbersome and expensive to remove.

Aquzar solves these problems by being configured as a closed loop system. This allows for grey water recirculation thus reducing massively the quantity of potable water purchases required for a remote site.

Aquzar in operation?

The wastewater is plumbed directly into the Aquzar where it goes through a unique combination of lamellae plate settlement, active intense ‘Aerotor’ biological treatment with a UV finish.

This treats sewage in an extremely efficient way to below discharge standards for BOD, COD, SS, Ammonia (NH4), Phosphorus (P) and Nitrogen (N).

The only discharge is treated water, with a higher standard than federal and state requirements, that may be run off into the ground or a water course close to the installation.

There is an automatic internal sludge storage which is emptied by road tanker approx every 6 months.

A big advantage for workcamp type installations, is the UV finish allows the discharge water to be used for direct non-potable ‘purple pipe' recirculation and reused for toilet flushing.

This closed loop configuration requires only periodic sludge removal with ZERO discharge into the local environment and large savings on water purchasing.
